In 1986, Christine started a journey that would eventually shape the very fabric of our Credit Union, then known as Denver Police Federal Credit Union. Over the last 40 years, she has navigated various roles within the organization, gaining perspective along the way that now defines her leadership as President and CEO. Her climb up the ladder is a testament to the power of dedication and hard work and a reminder that the best leaders are often those who have mastered every step of the path they now guide others along.
From Teller to CEO
When Christine walked into the Denver Police Federal Credit Union on January 6, 1986, the organization was a tight-knit team of only seven employees. Starting her tenure as a teller, she began her career on the front lines, learning the importance of member service and the foundational values of our credit union. Her professional evolution was marked by a steady, purposeful climb; by 1992, her deep understanding of the operations led to her appointment as Executive Vice President.
Just six years later, in 1998, Christine transitioned into the role of President and CEO, beginning a new era for the institution. Under her stewardship, what was once a small, specialized credit union operating out of a single location has transformed into Affidian Credit Union—a thriving organization composed of three branches, serving over 14,000 members in Colorado with assets exceeding $350 million. By rising from the teller line to the executive office, Christine gained a deep, hands-on understanding of our operations that very few CEOs can claim. That perspective and her four decades of tenure has become the cornerstone of our stability and a major reason why Affidian has thrived for so long while other credit unions have struggled. Christine is part of a dedicated group of long-tenured team members whose decades of shared history ensure that while our name and scale have evolved, our commitment to our members remains as steadfast as it was in 1986.
A Career Defined by Service and Commitment
While 40 years of history provide a proud vantage point, Christine’s focus remains firmly on what lies ahead. Throughout her ascent, her primary focus remained on the credit union itself—strengthening Affidian’s core so that it could better serve our members and support our team for generations to come. It is this very foundation that has inspired a similar level of devotion across our staff. Today, several of our key team members also boast decades of tenure, creating a shared history that provides our institution with unparalleled stability and deep expertise. As we look toward the future, we do so with the confidence of a leader who knows this organization from the inside out, ensuring that the next chapter of our story is just as impactful as the last.
